For The Stans: Billboard Wants To Thank Beyonce For Being So Accomplished And Influential

Beyonce Billboard Millenium Award

The wonderful life of Beyonce Giselle Knowles continues.

Recording artist, actress, producer and philanthropist Beyoncé will receive the 2011 Billboard Millennium Award celebrating her career achievements and influence in the music industry. The award will be presented at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards hosted by Ken Jeong, airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, SUNDAY, MAY 22 (8:00–11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Musical artists performing at the show include Cee Lo, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, The Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Taio Cruz.

One of the most widely recognized and highly respected women in pop culture, Beyoncé was a founding member and front woman of Destiny’s Child, one of the most celebrated female groups in music history. With three chart-topping solo albums, indelible images and a series of visionary videos, she has developed into an iconic artist. She has won numerous accolades and awards, including 16 Grammy Awards and ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year award.

Her superstar duet with Shakira, “Beautiful Liar,” set the all-time record for the biggest chart jump in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, bulleting upward an unprecedented 91 slots (No. 94 to No. 3) in a single week. Additionally, Billboard Magazine named the “I AM…World Tour,” where she performed to 1.1 million fans on every continent, the No. 1 concert attraction of 2009. Billboard also named Beyoncé Woman of the Year in October 2009 and Top Female Artist of the Decade in December 2009.

Yawn Yay!

Kind of interesting how the little description of why she deserves the award doesn’t mention a single 2010 accomplishment… Why exactly is Beyonce getting this award this year?? Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with a nice promotions check being cut for her new album, could it?

Jesus Take The Wheel: Dabawi Man Jumps Off Worlds Tallest Building After Vacation Request Was Denied!!

There had to have been a shorter building that this guy could have jumped off to get the same affect…

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — A man threw himself off the world’s tallest building in Dubai, its developer said, plummeting to his death in the first suicide from Burj Khalifa tower.

Emaar Properties, the owner of the towering structure, said in a brief statement that “an incident involving a male”
was reported at the tower’s site at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.

“The concerned authorities have confirmed that it was a suicide, and we are awaiting the final report,” Emaar’s statement also said. It did not elaborate further.

Local reports quoted security officials as saying the man fell from the 147th floor of the 2,717 foot-tall tower and landed on a deck on the 108th floor.

Reports on the websites of the Gulf News and 7 Days newspapers say the man — who is believed to be in his twenties and of South Asian background — jumped following a dispute with his company. Police said statements from co-workers indicated that his vacation request had been turned down.

R.I.P. bruh, it didn’t have to end like that, there’s always a better way…

Hi Hater: Faux News Labels Common A “Vile Rapper”

Does this look like the picture of someone “vile”???

Fox “Faux” News reported on Michelle Obama having rapper Common come perform a poetry reading at the White House. In the headline of the post they refer to Common as a “Vile Rapper” due to his lyrics containing guns, and more specifically a line about “burning” George Bush.

Here’s an opportunity to relive your high-school poetry classes.

First Lady Michelle Obama has scheduled a poetry evening for Wednesday, and she’s invited several poets, including a successful Chicago poet and rapper, Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr., AKA “Common.” However, Lynn is quite controversial, in part because his poetry includes threats to shoot police and at least one passage calling for the “burn[ing]” of then-President George W. Bush.

Back in 2003, First Lady Laura Bush held a poetry evening, and she invited several poets to reprise the work of Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes and Walt Whitman. Although none of those poets had urged violence against a president, Bush canceled the event after left-of-center poets protested and threatened to disrupt the event.

Those f*ckers at Fox will do anything to sh*t on a Black person won’t they? SMH
