NBA Draft 2011: Should the Minnesota Timberwolves Trade the No. 2 Pick?
One of the hottest 2011 NBA Draft rumors leading into Thursday night’s NBA Draft is what the Timberwolves should do with the draft’s No. 2 pick.
With the seemingly clear-cut No. 1 pick Kyrie Irving expected to be off the board when the T-Wolves pick at No. 2, there’s a glut of options at No. 2—the only problem is, none of them have Minnesota’s brass doing backflips.
Enes Kanter may have the highest potential of the draft—but he’s also a big-time project with bust potential, too. Minnesota has a surprisingly strong—albeit, very young—frontcourt with Kevin Love, Anthony Randolph, Darko Milicic and Michael Beasley.
Derrick Williams was a stud at Arizona, but he’s also drawn comparisons (without, of course, the character flaws) to former the former Kansas State star, Beasley.
The Timberwolves trading down or away their pick to potentially land a high pick in a later, stronger draft, will be one of the predominant themes leading right up until the draft kicks off on Thursday night.
