ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll: Kansas Tops Texas By One Vote In This Week’s Top 25

ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll Updated With Kansas And Texas On Top Of Ohio State

With the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes crashing and burning on the road against Wisconsin this past Saturday, you knew that there was going to be some movement at the top of the college b-ball rankings.

And there was, as the word came down earlier on Monday afternoon that the Kansas Jayhawks had risen to the top of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Jayhawks barely edged out the Texas Longhorns, nabbing 14 first place votes to Texas' 13. Coincidentally, Kansas' one and only loss this season was to those same Longhorns. That might prompt some to get up and arms about the latest poll, but Texas does have three losses on the season.

As for those Buckeyes, they dropped down to No. 3, and received just three first place votes.

Between the three teams at the top, the Longhorns are probably in the best shape for the stretch run. They've won 10 in a row, and none of their six remaining games are against ranked teams.

As for those Buckeye-busting Badgers, their upset win bumped them up to No. 10. It just so happens that they wrap up their season on the road against Ohio State, so we shall see if they can make it 2-for-2.
