Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin has as good as issued a "come and get me" plea to Premier League Chelsea, according to this article at The Sun website.
Godin says Chelsea made a bid for him in January, with the Blues reportedly offering £54 million for the defender and highly-rated striker Sergio Aguero.
La Liga side Atletico turned down the offer, but it appears Uruguay international Godin was ready to leave.
"The club didn't want to sell," he said. "Who wouldn't want to play for Chelsea? It would mean going up a step."
Godin's comments appear to have opened the door for a second attempt from Chelsea this summer.
