Carmelo Anthony: Is Denver Done In Terms Of Being A Contender?

Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets simply cannot put it together.

On Sunday it was a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers and the Nuggets followed that up by getting blown out by the New Jersey Nets last night. Those are two games Denver should have won and at this point, it’s time to write off the Nuggets as a possible dark horse in the Western Conference.

There’s something missing on that team and I don’t know what it is. Denver hasn’t been the same since the run to the Western Conference Finals two years ago and there is no fire, no spark and no drive to be a great team.

Denver has plenty of talent on the roster and I don’t know what it is, if it’s the distraction of trade rumors around Anthony or what, but the Nuggets are dead in the water at this point. Something has to change, and fast, if the Nuggets want to be contenders, but I don’t see that happening.

The fans deserve better, but they won’t get it.
