San Diego Chargers Benefit From Depth at DE In 2011 NFL Mock Draft

Although they missed the playoffs, there really aren't too many weaknesses on the Chargers.

Sure they could use another wide receiver, but unless they trade up they will have to wait until Day Two to find one without reaching.

The defensive line was solid in 2010, but they could always use another pass rusher to help keep the entire unit fresh.

As ESPN's Todd McShay noted in his latest mock,

The Chargers are also looking to beef up their three-man front and would be thrilled if Wilkerson was still on the board here.

Wilkerson has already come off the board her, but Kerrigan would give them a great backup plan. Ultimately he'd be able to take over for Jacques Cesaire and is a 10-sack-per-year threat for the next half-dozen seasons. He's big and has nice agility, in that Jared Allen mold.
