2011 NFL Mock Draft: Full 2nd-Round Picks, Eagles Taking Marcus Gilchrist
2011 NFL Mock Draft Full 2nd-Round Picks including Eagles Taking Marcus Gilchrist
The Philadelphia Eagles passed on Colorado’s cornerback Jimmy Smith in favor of Baylor offensive lineman Danny Watkins.
While it isn’t the sexiest pick, the Eagles and head coach Andy Reid know football and can see talent.
Now that the offensive line got some help, it’s time to help the defensive secondary by drafting a cornerback.

The perfect fit here for Philadelphia would be Clemson cornerback Marcus Gilchrist. He isn’t afraid to tackle people, which seemed to befuddle the eagles secondary last season.
Gilchrist is a sold coverage corner with great anticipation. He is not afraid to block you off the line and play physical, but he has good speed to avoid being beat deep.
