NBA Finals 2011: Dallas Mavericks Should Play Corey Brewer in Game 2
Remember when there was all of the competition over Corey Brewer when he was bought out of his contract?
A plethora of NBA teams hopeful for a shot at the title competed over his services until he eventually landed in Dallas on a multi-year deal. These days, he’s a forgotten man in the Mavericks rotation.
His staunch defense is exactly what the Mavericks need and I’d like to see the team give some of the minutes they’re handing out to DeShawn Stevenson to Brewer, who is far more athletic than Stevenson.

It’s pretty incredible that Brewer has seen his role reduced so much, especially when you consider the injury to one of the team’s most sound defenders in Caron Butler.
If the Mavericks are serious about changing the approach for Game 2 (and they should be), bringing in Brewer for some early minutes would be a welcomed change.
Should the team find themselves in a hole early in the contest, I believe it’ll be a change that coach Rick Carlisle won’t be hesitant to make.
