This is looking to be all but over, as Thierry Henry has made it 2-0 for the New York Red Bulls over the Los Angeles Galaxy at the hour mark. The goal was Henry’s 14th of the season.
Early in the second half, a chance for Luke Rodgers via Joel Lindpere went out of reach. Bryan Jordan tried to find Chad Barrett in the 49th minute, but to no avail.
In the 56th minute, a David Beckham corner found Chad Barrett, but did not position himself right to finish off the delivery. A minute later, Rodgers nearly capitalized on a break in the Red Bulls’ attacking third.
Another corner in the 59th minute from Beckham found Omar Gonzalez, but the defender could not finish the delivery, either.
For New York, they are on the verge of the biggest victory of the season. For the first time in a while, New York are playing worth their money and will need to play like this for the remainder of the season.
