Halle Berry To Go To Court For Custody of Daughter
Halle Berry, Hollywood actress and ex-wife of former Major League Baseball outfielder David Justice, is in the news today because she’s preparing to go to court for custody of her daughter, Nahla.
The report comes straight from People, which states that Berry has “serious concerns” for Nahla’s well-being under her father, Gabriel Aubry, whom Berry divorced in 2010.
“Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her,” said Berry’s representative.
As a result, the 44-year-old actress has pulled out of the film New Year’s Eve, which is set to start filming this week.
Late in 2010, Aubry filed papers with Los Angeles Superior Court asking that his paternity be recognized and for a court order that would give him joint custody of Nahla. Berry’s decision on Tuesday indicates pretty clearly that she does not want this to come to pass.
Berry’s marriage to Justice also ended in divorce, as the couple was married for a little over three years in the early to mid 1990s. Berry ended up seeking a restraining order against Justice.
