CvC 2.0 Play-In: Brock Lesnar Is the Best Superstar Yet to Get the Triple Crown

What's up, ladies and gentlemen? My name is Eric Kanes and after giving it some thought, I have decided to join the first ever Creature vs. Creature tournament.

Now, the topic that I will be discussing today is "The Best WWE Superstar Yet to Get the Triple Crown." For clarification, the triple crown is any combination of a world title (WWE or World Heavyweight), a mid-card title (Intercontinental or United States), and a tag team title.

When this topic is brought up, some of the wrestlers that come to mind are usually guys like Carlito, Shelton Benjamin, and John Morrison. Guys who were decent mid-card wrestlers but just didn't have what it takes to take the next step - whether it be mic skills, charisma, or credibility.

Other wrestlers that come to mind are guys like Ricky Steamboat, Mr. Perfect, and Dusty Rhodes. Guys who were phenomenal mid-card wrestlers but whose careers just didn't have very good timing.

However, one name that doesn't usually come to mind is "The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar. Why? Well, Brock Lesnar is an extremely accomplished wrestler in his own right. He is a 3-time WWE Champion, Royal Rumble winner, King of the Ring winner, and WrestleMania main eventer and he earned those achievements in a shorter span of time than any other superstar.

So why didn't Brock Lesnar complete the Triple Crown like greats who came before him such as Steve Austin, The Rock, and "Macho Man" Randy Savage? Simple. Brock Lesnar didn't need to use a tag team or mid-card championship as a stepping stone to the main event. He was so good that he was pushed straight to the main event just three short months after his debut.

Brock Lesnar was the total package. He had it all.

A great look? Check. Standing at 6'4" and weighing in at over 300 pounds, Brock Lesnar had one of the most impressive looks in WWE history.

In-ring ability? Undeniable. Lesnar was unbelievably agile for a big man and put on many classic bouts such as his 60-Minute Ironman Match against Kurt Angle and his Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker. Furthermore, he won PWI Feud of the Year, Match of the Year, and Wrestler of the Year in his rookie year. His strength was unmatched. The man was an absolute beast. He could bust out his finishing maneuver, the F5, at any time and on any opponent.

Mic skills? Above average. While Brock Lesnar seldom cut promos due to the fact that he had a manager for most of his career, he was certainly one of the better promo guys during that time period and could cut an amazing promo whenever he needed to.

Charima and ability to draw? Don't even get me started. 2002 & 2003, the years where Brock Lesnar main evented most of the pay-per-views, were two of the most profitable years during that decade and were two of the best in terms of PPV buys and TV ratings.

In fact, it has been said that had Brock Lesnar not left WWE in 2004, he would have received the monster push that John Cena went on to receive.

Based on his abilities and accomplishments, I think it is safe to say that Brock Lesnar is indeed the greatest WWE superstar yet to complete the triple crown. Unlike most of the other eligible candidates, Brock Lesnar didn't fail to complete the triple crown because he wasn't good enough. Brock Lesnar failed to complete the triple crown because he was too good for it.
