College Football Preseason Rankings 2011: Ohio State Is Most Overrated
Without question, Ohio State is the most overrated team on the list and they’re sitting at sixteen right now. Even so, we’re looking at a team without their head coach and without their best player. Whether Ohio State fans want to admit it or not, Jim Tressel will be greatly missed, even more so than Terrelle Pryor.
Tressel gave this team an identity and guided them to key victories last season, but more importantly he gave them leadership. Tressel inspired this team and even though interim head coach Luke Fickell is an Ohio State alum and a good candidate for the job, this team is going to have plenty of growing pains.
Are they a top 25 team? Of course they are, but they aren’t worthy of being sixteenth. Ohio State is still “The Ohio State”, but they’re going to struggle this year. This team might finish with four or five losses and that wouldn’t be too surprising judging by everything they’ve lost.
