Clay Matthews Grammys: Will Latest Media Appearances Lead To Cross-Over Appeal?
Clay Matthews Grammys is Tonight, But Will We See More of the Packers' Star In The Media?
Clay Matthews is presenting at tonight's Grammy awards, fresh off of his appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and WWE SmackDown.
Matthews is the star linebacker for the Green Bay Packers and has been seen all over the media since the Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl. Does any of this sound familiar? It reminds me a lot of the career arc Troy Polamalu. After the Steelers won the Super Bowl, Polamalu started to get endorsement deals and be seen more often in the media.
Matthews is one of the faces of the franchise, alongside Aaron Rodgers and with his friendly personality, it's no shock that he's become so popular after Green Bay reached the mountaintop. Plus, it never hurt that people can't stop talking about his long hair.
The star linebacker is on the fast track to becoming a star and with how well he plays on the field, it's only a matter of time before we see Matthews in more and more media appearances. He's earned them and it comes with the territory of being a Super Bowl champion.
