Christina Aguilera Video: Watch Aguilera Mess Up Super Bowl XLV National Anthem

Christina Aguilera Botches First Part Of "Star Spangled Banner" During Super Bowl XLV

Christina Aguilera is by all means a seasoned singing veteran and she even acknowledges that she's been singing the national anthem since she was a little girl.  But that doesn't mean she's not immune to making mistakes.

“I have been performing the Anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true,” Christina said in a statement. “I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event.”

The years of experience didn't matter for the diva, she managed to screw up a lyric in the first half of the national anthem.

Around the .50 second mark of the video, Aguilera was supposed to sing "O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming."

But instead, she mouthed off: "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last streaming."

Yes, she made up the words.  The second line of the tune reads: "What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming."  Sounds like she combined the second and fourth lines of the Francis Scott Key lyric.

At least she played it off like she knew exactly what she was doing.

This should serve as a lesson to the Pittsburgh Steelers.  They may have plenty of Super Bowl experience but that doesn't mean you're immune to making mistakes when you're playing in football's biggest stage.

It's alright Christina, even the best screw up every now and then.
