Chicago Marathon: Registration For The Windy City’s Annual Event Is Underway
The annual Chicago Marathon has started to take applications from people interested in participating in the event. Registration is open to anyone, though there are only 45,000 spots available and it’s done on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The event will take place this year on Sunday, October 9. It is a 26.2-mile circular course that starts and ends at Grant Park. It is one of the five major world marathons along with Boston, New York, London and Berlin.
There is an entry fee of $145 for U.S. participants and $170 for non-U.S. participants.
This will be the 34th running of the Chicago Marathon. It started in 1977 and has been a fixture of Chicago events every year since. The event draws a vast number of tourists to the city and millions of dollars every year for various charitable organizations.
It’s a marathon race for a great cause and not only does it raise money for charities, but it also brings in cash and jobs for the local economy every single year.
