Bernard Tomic: Is Youngster the Next Novak Djokovic?

Is Bernard Tomic on His Way To Stardom?

Bernard Tomic is on his way to being one of the best, if not the best, young tennis players in the world.

I dare say he is on his way to being the next Novak Djokovic.

But, first let’s worry about Wimbledon.

Tomic, the Australian qualifier, is on his way to bring Lleyton Hewitt’s 11-year run as the Australians No. 1 tennis player, and beat Robin Soderling in an upset at Wimbledon.

Tomic won 6-1, 6-4, and 7-5 in the sweep. Keep in mind he is only 18 years old.

Tomic is ranked 158 in the world and is the practice partner of Novak Djokovic.

That raises an interesting question: Is Tomic the next Novak Djokovic?

I have to go ahead and say yes.

The young phenom is playing at a completely different level that his competition right now to a point where he is almost brutally ruthless. I think that working with Djokovic has to be rubbing off on him as well, as I can only imagine the small nuances that he is picking up from the older star.

I think we could be seeing the makings of a star in Bernard Tomic.

At Wimbledon he will matchup wither either Xavier Malisse or Jurgen Melzer next, and then has the potential to meet Djokovic on the quarter-final.
