BCS Rankings: Clemson and More Teams Capable of Sliding into Top 5

The BCS rankings will undoubtedly be changing after what was a weekend to remember this season. Two of the nation's Top 5 teams in Boise State and Stanford will more than likely find themselves on the outside looking in after losing their undefeated records in their more recent outings.

With upsets galore and tough conference games towards the season, there was plenty of excitement this week in college football.

Clemson, along with several other teams, have continued to win football games and make a case as one of the stronger teams in the nation.

These are the three teams capable of sliding into the Top 5.

No. 9 Clemson Tigers

With just one loss on the season coming to a tough conference opponent on the road in Georgia Tech, there is no question the Tigers are still more than capable of making a run to be in the Top 5 in the nation.

Disregarding the loss to the Yellow Jackets on the road, the Tigers have won all three games against ranked opponents including two Top 15 teams in Florida State and Virginia Tech (both No. 11 at the time).

With a 6-1 record in the ACC and just one loss all year, it would be more than deserving that this team makes the jump into the Top 5.

No. 7 Oregon Ducks

The Oregon Ducks are arguably as good a team as there is in the nation, as they are yet to lose all season since losing to the LSU Tigers in Week 1 of the college football season.

With starting running back LaMichael James and starting quarterback Darron Thomas playing at such an exceptionally high level, the No. 3 overall offense and No. 5 rushing offense has been producing quite the figures.

James is less than 200 yards from the leading rusher, and has missed two games this season, not to mention the guy has 12 touchdowns on the year as well.

If one disregards the misfortune of having had to play the No. 1 team in the nation to open up the season, this Ducks team is easily a Top 2 team in the nation.

When it comes to the talent they possess on both sides of the football and considering the sheer dominance they have won games with all year, this is a force to reckon with that has earned a Top 5 spot.

No. 8 Arkansas

Arkansas has been moving up and down the rankings all season, yet the 9-1 Razorbacks are also arguably as good a team as there is in college football.

Aside from a 38-14 loss to No. 3 Alabama, the Razorbacks have six straight games and their last three games in a row against ranked opponents. These include wins against teams playing some of the best football in the country: the Auburn Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies and South Carolina Gamecocks.

The quality of opponents they have taken down has been something to watch, as this team seems to have found its groove as of late. Their most recent win came over Tennessee, a game that wasn't even close. The Razorbacks would win 49-7, going up to 5-1 on the season in the conference.
